Laura Pike began working within the student movement 14 years ago as an elected sabbatical officer, a role which ignited her passion for student voice and paved the way for her career within the movement. Since then her work has focused on empowering young people to bring about change within themselves, their education and wider society, both within FE and the voluntary sector.
Laura is an experienced trainer, having facilitated training and workshops with students and staff at a local and national level for a number of years. As General Manager at Bradford College Students’ Union, Laura was responsible for managing the largest Students’ Union within FE and alongside this helped to coordinate the Learner Voice Practitioner Network, supporting colleagues across the sector and sharing best practice. She is head of student voice at Manchester SU within the student movement and is a Trustee at the University of Sunderland Students’ Union.
